Standard – Black Marans

Standard shape requirements the same as for the breed description of the Marans.

Disqualifications: More than one half inch of positive white in any part of the surface plumage, or two or more feathers tipped or edged in positive white. Any tint of yellow on bottom of feet or toes. (see General Disqualification and Cutting for Defects).

Color Male and Female

Comb, Face, Wattles and Ear Lobes: Bright Red
Beak: Black shading to white at the tip
Eyes: Reddish Bay Shanks
Toes: Dark slate, bottom of feet and toes pinkish white.
Plumage:
Surface: lustrous greenish black
Under color: Dull black
